Secrecy has been a hallmark of almost every serious path to enlightenment.

And I don’t mean having to sweep someone’s floor for twelve years before receiving teachings.

I mean secrecy that is inherent, the “self-secret” depth that eludes most people, which is how Tibet’s highest teachings are described.

If you want to reach something profound, you must become profound. So much so that your state of mind can’t be described with books.

Because the spiritual world is vast.

Once you get deep enough, it’s actually easy to get lost, to the point where this supposedly miserable physical reality is actually a comfort that grounds you.

It’s easy to get sidetracked. To lose sight of the goal and chase its various flowering fruits, rather than its destination.

Or, you could get engrossed in just exploring the paths leading up the mountain – never actually reaching it by taking one all the way.

It reveals a bold but necessary reality…
