I got back from Tokyo last week, where I was speaking at the Beyond Blocks Tokyo Conference.
I spoke on a panel with Jack Lu who is the Founder of Wanchain and Matthew Spoke who is the founder of Aion. There were 42 speakers and over 1,000 attendees from all around the world. I learned a ton on the panel (I’m the community head and they are the CEO’s of two amazing protocols, so I was at a bit of a disadvantage with experience). Here is the video:
Key takeaways from the conference for me were:
- Community is Key.
We are leading an ambitious project with the best practices and other companies are noticing and emulating. How Origin acts is being watched and emulated. We are learning from other projects just as much!
- The UI Layer is Needed.
One year from now the success of the ecosystem will be how many people use crypto in their daily lives plus how many people use it and don’t realize it.
- Global Community Education is Everywhere.
I’d guess half the audience was there not to partner up or build but to just learn about the space.
- Diversity is an Opportunity.
We have a global reach with packed conferences around the world with blockchain events but are missing out on half the population. It is my goal to invite more of a representative population to our conferences and communities.
