We’re excited to announce the relaunch of Origin Dollar (OUSD). Deposits are now open at ousd.com. You can once again upgrade your USDT, USDC, or DAI into OUSD that captures highly competitive yields from DeFi protocols while being passively held in wallets.

We remain committed to our vision of a superior stablecoin for the Ethereum network. Despite the setback from our hack last November, we are returning with renewed confidence that we are building something significant that many people want. We see OUSD as an essential building block for the entire DeFi ecosystem. We’ve proven to ourselves that our original dream is possible. Now OUSD is back and stronger than ever.

Going forward, security will be our number one priority for OUSD. Since the hack, we’ve completed multiple audits with Trail of Bits and Solidified, and have made significant security improvements to ensure your funds are safe. We learned the hard way that security needs to come first.

Today, we’re asking for your trust, one more time. Let’s rebuild together.

A new and better OUSD

After implementing new rigorous security measures, we’ve also laid out a plan to make OUSD even more appealing to the crypto mainstream. We are actively working with multiple DeFi insurance providers and will be announcing our initial coverage plans to further secure the product in the next week.

We will be working hard to collaborate with other DeFi projects to ensure OUSD is one of the fundamental DeFi money legos that is compatible with many other protocols, from AMMs (automated market makers) to lending protocols. We want to ensure high liquidity between OUSD and other trading pairs, including other stablecoins like the mainstay coins (USDT, USDC, DAI) as well as the new algorithmic stablecoins (BAC, MIC, ESD, etc.).

The long-term vision of OUSD is to bring DeFi to the masses. We believe offering a safe and seamless high-yield experience to many that are new to crypto will greatly broaden the addressable market for all of DeFi. Multiple integrations and partnership opportunities are already in the planning stages to make OUSD accessible for new users and capital coming into DeFi in 2021 and beyond.

Further, we wanted to reiterate that Origin Tokens (OGN) will serve as the governance token for OUSD. Over time, the OUSD protocol will become more and more decentralized and community-owned. OGN holders will also benefit from fees and other value accrual mechanisms from OUSD becoming more successful and adopted by the masses.

Today is just the beginning of a very long and adventurous journey for OUSD and OGN. Thank you for taking part in this next phase of growth for Origin.
