Roadmap update: From DKG V6 to V8
The launch of two(!) new networks — the OriginTrail Parachain & V6 Decentralized Knowledge Graph (DKG) brought unparalleled speed and performance to our tech.
As we introduce the semantic AI-search, the updated roadmap now brings the V8 DKG closer — to the Metcalfe phase.
Inspired by Turing award winner Dr Bob Metcalfe and his pioneering work, including “Metcalfe’s Law” and the creation of the first computer network, the OriginTrail Metcalfe phase aims to leverage network effects through blockchain interoperability and data source connections using global standards such as GS1.
Building on the rapid AI development propelled by tech giants and OriginTrail’s own achievements, the phase bootstraps the development of the V8 Decentralized Knowledge Graph (DKG V8). The DKG V8 aims to offer a user-centric, trusted knowledge foundation with decentralized AI functionalities, enabling individuals and organizations to participate in a knowledge economy based on neutrality, inclusiveness, and usability — the core principles of the OriginTrail ecosystem.
The Metcalfe phase both subsumes and significantly advances plans enshrined previously within the so-called Burners-Lee phase. This will result in earlier bootstrapping of the V8 DKG tech fundamentals and earlier advancements in decentralized AI.
As the current, Turing phase nears the completion having delivered immensely important advancements (ETA October 2023), we have put a more detailed estimations for completion of each item within the ongoing phase 👇
