In relationship to the topic of Islam and Arianism, Arianism wanted to start out as saying Christ was created (not incarnate). This means that Arianism doesn’t support the Son of God and God the Father being one or co-eternal. The idea of Christ being just a really holy man, or he became divine or even questions arising in regards to the full extent of his divinity came after the Arian heresy. We touched base in the Orthodox blog about Islam and Arianism as well. Many Islamic scholars would also likely agree that Arianism is their proof for Islam existing before Muhammad.

Islam is one of the very few religions in my opinion, where if you took Arian literature, and Islamic writings such as the Quaran and Hadiths, you could easily prove out that it is a continuation of Arianism. Even Islam in essence is one of the religions that seem to argue against itself. This includes the fact that Allah seems to very much align with the will of Muhammad and the fact that Allah punishes unbelievers or false prophets in a very specific way.

The Shia and Sunni translations are good places to start. There are also various writings within Arianism that predate Muhammad’s time, and are coexistant within his time era. Therefore, one can conclude my original hypothesis that Islam is the world’s most successful Christian heresy.
