Live End-to-End Demo of Simple Token & Pepo
Demo accompanies public release of OpenST platform v0.9.0 — development Milestone 1 in the Simple Token project.
We are building Simple Token to enable mainstream businesses to integrate cryptocurrencies seamlessly into their existing applications and business processes. By focusing on the user experience of cryptocurrencies we want to spearhead a new chapter of user adoption at internet scale for blockchain technology.
A couple of weeks ago we released OpenST, the technical foundation of the Simple Token project. OpenST is available on Github via open-source license.
As we head into the token sale of Simple Token on November 14th we are proud to share with you today the first live end-to-end demonstration of Simple Tokens staked against minting and using Branded Tokens on open side-chains, following the OpenST Protocol. This demo accompanies the public release of OpenST platform v0.9.0 — development Milestone 1 in the Simple Token project.
In this first demo we’ve worked with Pepo as the first Member Company to use Simple Token as a platform to create and mint Pepo Coin. Pepo is a local expertise application. Pepo plans to use the OpenST platform to allow its users to up-vote content and earn and spend PepoCoin when their contributions are valued by other users.
For this demonstration we deploy Simple Token and the OpenST protocol contracts on Ethereum Ropsten testnet. (Our intention is that the very same day that ST becomes transferable following our token sale, we will deploy this on Ethereum mainnet.)
The OpenST platform allows Pepo to create and mint its branded token, PepoCoin, on an open utility chain by staking Simple Token on Ethereum.
The end-to-end demo shows how Simple Token can be staked by Pepo on Ethereum testnet to mint its branded token, PepoCoin, on the OpenST platform. We then demonstrate how an existing consumer application can use the OpenST APIs to seamlessly let its users transfer PepoCoin from within the application.
The demo illustrates how end-users can start earning and spending real cryptocurrencies with a smooth user experience. One of our goals is to make it easy for companies to integrate the OpenST platform into their existing applications.
