Activity Report Vol. 93: Proof of Concept Begins for Blockchain Translation Service by Fans, for Fans
Tokyo Honyaku Quest teams up with Otaku Coin
We have big news to share.
IID Inc., which owns countless entertainment media including the popular anime news site Anime!Anime!, the leading authority on anime news in Japan; BitFlyer Blockchain Inc., which has its own blockchain node and is a corporate group of bitFlyer, Inc., the largest domestic exchange in Japan; and Tokyo Otaku Mode Inc., which has over 20 million otaku fans worldwide, have partnered with the Otaku Coin Association to carry out a proof of concept on a new translation service for entertainment content made for fans using blockchain and token economies.
Through the translation service Otaku Coin holders and consumers will increase through fans receiving HON for their translations which can be converted to Otaku Coin. In addition, the service provides a unique opportunity to widen the otaku market around the world and contribute to the development of token economies.
We on the Otaku Coin Association aim to enliven the contents industry and otaku community around the world that loves Japanese pop culture including anime, manga, and video games. The feelings of fans aren’t bound by national borders. We look forward to everyone’s continued support as we will push forward in implementing the vision of Otaku Coin through the love of pop culture which crosses over borders and has no language barrier, and through believing in the power of this love all over the world.
