My love is like the ocean
Deeper than the seas
Smooth as a mirror
Served in its fullness

I gave you my ocean
But you gave me just a cup
You never thirst by me
But all I get from you is a sip

Now what was once an ocean
Is only a pond
And your pond an ocean
Still I continue to thirst
Yet the passersby drink from you to their fill
Out of my ocean you drained

Even so I continue to fill you
Till my water dries up
And on to the next ocean you drain
While I remain but a dry land
With nothing for your heritor to drink
