There’s No Peace Like This

Micropoetry

Photo by Johannes Plenio via Unsplash

the fog kisses the road as we pass by slowly
engulfed in the newness of fresh air and
cool breezes. I touch your hand, grateful
to witness God’s gifts simultaneously alongside
another one. how casual, we seem. this peace
makes its way into our realm forcefully — we sit
back, gulp it down, and beg for more.

it’ll be a long ride home, baby.
and that’s okay with me.
