Who should inaugurate the OU Student Media Hall of Fame?

A small committee of OU Student Media alumni are working with the Student Media staff to plan our celebration of The Oklahoma Daily’s 100th year in October. As part of that celebration, we’d like to honor a few of the most accomplished alumni of The Daily and the rest of Student Media. Who are those people? We hope you’ll help us decide.

Please take a moment to remember the folks you worked with at The Daily, Sooner yearbook or Student Media advertising. Who among them sets the best example for our students and for their peers in professional media? If a a name or two pop immediately to mind, send them to me as nominees for the OU Student Media Hall of Fame, along with a few words about why they’re worthy.

Remember, your nominee(s) should have been deeply involved in Student Media at OU. Their professional accomplishments don’t have to be in media, but those accomplishments should demonstrate the highest mastery of skills learned in Student Media.

The Daily Centennial Committee will be making these selections in the next few weeks. Send your nominees to nickjungman@ou.edu by no later than Wednesday, Aug. 24.
