“Do you want to see Prince tomorrow night?” Mrs Albion called to ask.

“Hell yeah!”

It’s not been all work over these last couple of weeks. There was the extended trip to Greece, of course, and last night we went to see Prince.

We were invited along by someone who is hoping to schmooze Mrs Albion into a business deal — so we watched the purple rainmaker from the comfort of a box in the O2 Arena. A large box, well stocked with delicious Italian food, plenty of drink, a nice man to serve it all, and some rather excellent company in the form of Mrs Albion’s counterparty, his wife, his colleagues and their partners and clients.

I was, of course, boasting that Prince seems to be putting most of what I taught him to good use.

I continued to boast until just after the concert. We were downing a few much needed glasses of water — all that dancing and eating Italian Food is a sweaty business. A thought crinkled Mrs Albion’s face,

So you’re saying that women think he’s sexy?

Well, yes — I mean, look at the man — the energy, the dynamism… the twins! That’s his second set of twins you know.

But Damian, he’s just like a My Little Pony — all that hair, the purple and sequins.

The girls laughed.

He just needs a little sequinned heart on his cheek,

said one of them, through her giggles.

The husbands and boyfriends looked uncomfortable.

I admired the carpet.

So, the Australia Vs Wales game…

said a man’s voice. But our hearts weren’t in it.
