Rick Santorum Rocked It!

My husband hates that I am always right. He actually told me that as we drove away from a unique house party on Friday evening. Ted Cruz has lost a voter and Rick Santorum has gained one. This past Friday I loaded my children into the car and my husband tagged along. He was not sure what he would run into because he had never seen Rick Santorum in person. We pulled up to a lovely home tucked inside the hills of Council Bluffs, unloaded the kids, and walked into a welcoming environment. The host and hostess were very gracious and hospitable, happy to see us walk into the house, and introduced themselves to us.

I made sure that we arrived early so that I could witness all the activities that happened from start to finish during my visit. Rick walked in shortly after we had settled. He immediately started mingling with those who were there to see him. His workers worked efficiently to get the area ready for him to speak. The cameras were set up to get a live stream ready for the Facebook world to view.

When my family walked into the house there were few people among us. Then I noticed there were now about sixty-five individuals sitting and waiting for Rick to start speaking. Rick started speaking and informing the audience of his political experience, family life, and especially the reason we need Rick in office.

Rick told the audience something that I already knew, which was that ISIS knew who he was, and he would make sure that ISIS would disappear. There were great points made that got my husbands interest. After all, he spent two tours fighting Islamic extremists. He wants a leader who actually wants to protect the citizens. Rick made it a point to speak on the Iran and Saudi Arabia issues, Iraq, Syria, and Egypt. This guy knows what is going on in the world. Then he made reference to the police shooting by the Muslim man who vowed his support of ISIS. All of his statements were true and accurate. Rick won this round.

An NYU student raised his hand and spoke about how his tuition was $63,000 for a year. How would Rick change the college rates or would he not? Rick likened his question to a vehicle purchase. You can drive a $63,000 vehicle or you could drive a Toyota and both of these vehicles will get you where you need. When choosing a college you should choose one that you can afford. You do not need to spend $63,000 on a liberal arts degree when you can get one for a fraction of that price.

I am an example of his argument. I graduated with no student loans. There are ways to graduate debt-free. Go to in-state university, vocational training, your parents may have planned ahead, or work a job during your college education. There are plenty of scholarships available for every type of person. You should never have to pay on student loans for a decade for any reason. One of the individuals spoke up on the need for more vocational training. Rick spoke on the need for people to return to trade skills. Welders are an example of a huge need and that career pays extremely well. I have friends who will also agree with that statement.

Other topics were brought up which were; healthcare, gun rights, family values, religious liberty, and he asked for prayer for our nation, his voters, and himself, and his family. There are so many wheels moving in this process right now that February is right around the corner. Other candidates will start making a few appearances in Iowa. Rick has been making an appearance in all 99 counties of Iowa since early 2015. Before announcements were made, Rick came and spoke on his platform, and his views have not changed. No flip flopping to make all Republicans happy. He does not want to win your vote with lies but the truth.

Friday evening brought in a group of strangers but ended with new friendships and a feeling of excitement. This is an important time for our country, there cannot be another unqualified candidate put into the White House. The evening ended with sitting in on a prayer call with Rick, three of my children, myself, and a couple other individuals. We listened to individuals from all over the country pray for Rick and our nation. After all prayers were said we ended with an Amen. Hearing my four year old say Amen with a pure and innocent voice was the perfect ending to our evening.

If you are interested in meeting Rick Santorum, jump onto Facebook and like Rick’s Facebook page, and you will see dates of house parties. This method of visiting with individuals is a more personal feeling for all involved. You can ask your candidate the hard questions, not have the questions vetted beforehand, and see an honest and truthful answer. Iowa please research Rick and get to know how solid of a candidate he really is.
