Step Up Revolution
Sometimes you gotta break the rules!
Storyline
The Mob sets the dancing against the vibrant backdrop of Miami. Emily arrives in Miami with aspirations of becoming a professional dancer and soon falls in love with Sean, a young man who leads a dance crew in elaborate, cutting-edge flash mobs, called “The Mob”. When a wealthy business man threatens to develop The Mob’s historic neighborhood and displace thousands-of people, Emily must work together with Sean and The Mob to turn their performance art into protest art, and risk losing their dreams to fight for a greater cause.
Emily: “I wish I could just break the rules.”
Sean: “Then break the rules.”
Newscaster: “The question on everyone’s mind is: Who is the MOB?”
This movie (Step Up Revolution) really inspired and still continues to inspire me to stand up for what I believe in. That means speaking louder than everyone else for me to be heard by everyone else.
“Living in a world like this, you learn pretty quick you have to speak louder than everyone else if you wanna be heard. Because the truth is, everyone has a voice. And there comes a time when you have to shout, to fight for what you want. But me and my friends, that time is now!”
“The MOB is our way to shout. It’s like us saying listen up, we exist.” – Sean
Sean explains to Emily why the MOB is so important. It’s a way for the members to be heard and to express themselves.
When the mob speaks, everyone listens.
Bar Owner: “He’s buying the whole strip: Our homes, our jobs, all gone.”
Sean: “Didn’t you ever want to be a part of something different? Something special?”
Emily: “Enough with performance art – it’s time for protest art.”
