Planning meeting part deux — create a project plan!

The team met this week to discuss the proposed plan from my previous post. We made a few tweaks and I had to clarify some points but we’ve agreed this seems like a sensible breakdown of the stories we need to work on over the coming months. (We are using realtimeboard.com to share a whiteboard between the US and UK office — unfortunately they have a limited range of colours so Purple is high priority!)

We have three objectives:

  1. Design/Structure — Create a stable well designed Help Centre which can host our content.
  2. Content — Create a framework for the team to easily create content.
  3. Measure success — Find ways to measure the success of the Help Centre and whether or not we have succeeded in our goals.

Within these objectives we have a number of stories/tasks which we’ve set to help us achieve this and assigned owners to each of these stories. You can view this below on our transatlantic project whiteboard. We’ve tried to mimic the whiteboards we use within our respective offices for ease of use and familiarity. (We used purple as high priority due to colour schemes available in Realtime board!)

Next steps:

  1. The owners of each story will have an estimated time of completion in time for the next review meeting. This estimated time should help us understand whether the June 19th Launch date we proposed is achievable.
  2. Populate the project board with the next steps for the owned stories.
  3. Speak to the Stakeholders and potential collaborators — what are we missing? What haven't we considered? How can they help? All questions I’m hoping they can answer in the following weeks.

Any feedback on how we’re managing this project and anything we may have missed off would be greatly appreciated!
