A look into Latitude’s 9th grade classes
My name is J.J. I am a student at Latitude High School. Latitude 37.8 High is a small school which cares about students well being, and provides some great education, and some fun and interesting projects! We’ll invite any new coming high schoolers or students who are already in high school to our school! Anyone is welcome! We will be going over our 9th grade classes. In addition we’ll be talking about Extended Learning Opportunities (ELO’s). ELO’s are something that is offered at our school, which shows us real world workplaces and stuff that we might be interested in, plus sometimes it’s just fun. Our students, and classes are on the verge of ending their first semester this school year! So I will be going over past projects, and ELO’s, current ones, and ones to come.
Our 9th grade physics class’ current project is modeling buildings and necessities for the tiny house village we are working with. In addition our models could be something they might build in the future. Once they’re done working on the digital version they are going to make a styrofoam model of it. Our 9th graders will be doing this until the end of semester 1. Starting Semester 2 our 9th graders will start building two tiny houses for the tiny house village, which will take the entirety of semester 2. As for math, they won’t be doing any big projects, but as for humanities Mx. Rebecca’s classes will be writing this article and many others, as for Mr. Torres’s class they are making a podcast, which both of these projects will end either semester 1 or the start of semester 2.
Our 9th graders will not be going on any more Field Trips this semester as of the end of November. But some upcoming ELO’s for Pod I are a trip on Jan 18th to SCU college of engineering in Santa Clara, Then starting Feb they will be going to ACTA NON VERBA Urban Farm, then Mr. Mike will plan out more ELOS later on in the year. Pod J will go to the Oakland Zoo on Jan 18th, Then on Feb 2nd they will go on SCU College of Engineering. Then Pod K will go to MOCHA children’s art museum on Jan 25th, then on feb 8th they will go to UCT semiconductors. Least but not last POD L will be going to Mattson semiconductors in Fremont. Then lastly on feb 8th they are going to SCU college of engineering. These aren’t all the ELO’s that our 9th graders will be going on, there are some yet to be planned by Mr. Mike. So just drop by Mr. Mikes office and ask him! If any of this sounds interesting to non-students of Latitude, we invite and welcome you to our school! You could do this as well, and many other fun and interesting projects later on in high school!
In conclusion, these are the projects and ELO’s our latitude 9th graders will be doing for the rest of the school year of 2022–2023. Stay tuned into our articles, about things happening in our school and updates! Keep in mind we also welcome any new students who would love to come to Latitude High 37.8!
