Can You Tell the Difference Between AI and Reality?
A classmate and I asked different people about AI in order to understand if they think AI is real. The main question in the interview was “Is AI is real or not?” This is a newsworthy topic because people could be getting scammed by AI and not notice that they got scammed.
I conducted the interviews at my house between March 8th and March 10th. I mainly interviewed people between the ages of 30 and 60.
The most common answer I got is that people think AI is real and an important topic to learn about. Another interesting response was they could be proud of AI and not be able to tell.
Ryan, my tutor, said, “I personally think AI is a positive or negative thing and that people are probably going to use it more than not for negative things.” According to Jaron they said that if they were just hearing a voice they could not tell if it was AI or not.
The answers I got were all surprisingly similar in the fact that all of the people I interviewed think AI is real. My biggest takeaway is that it is always good to have awareness of AI and the fact it exists. Now that I learned more about AI, I am more interested in how it works.
