I’m a student of Latitude High. I will be interviewing student athletes. The reason I wanted to talk about this topic is because I want to show or prove that athletes and student athletes go through many different obstacles to get to where they are now and where they want to be in the future. According to EVO Invest, a sports investing website, athletes are always under a lot of pressure to do well in games, and most athletes tend to show no fear towards failure. Some athletes tend to use failure to motivate them to do even better than last time.

I wanted to know about some student athletes from Latitude, how they deal with stress and how they can overcome it. The way I came up with these questions is based on what can cause athletes the most stress. When I was interviewing the student athletes, Juan Jose Ramos Melendez and Heydi Rodriguez these were the questions I asked, Questions: What are some ways you can keep your gpa above a 3.0? How do you prepare for a big game against a big rival? What if you can’t compete at high school level or college level? How can you build a good relationship with the coach? What backup plan do you have if sports doesn’t work out? How do you deal with stress before a game? How do you overcome your stress?

Not all of the athletes had the same responses. One of the athletes was more dedicated than the other, and showed more effort to get good grades and play sports. The other athlete was more focused on getting good grades and just playing for fun.One thing I also noticed is that the athlete that was more focused on getting good grades and playing sports for big teams.Did not have a backup plan if that didn’t make it at that level. Meanwhile the athlete that had good grades and just played for fun had a backup plan in case he didn’t make it to big levels.

The life of a professional athlete has a hidden side that most fans never see. Professional athletes have a variety of difficult challenges and roadblocks they face each day. When those professionals were once student athletes, they learned how to manage and deal with their stress so that it won’t mess them up academically and in sports. Only those who learn to deal with stress in healthy ways have much hope of making it to retirement, and those who manage it will often experience a long and rewarding career of which most people only dream.
