Why Project Mbappe Fails
Ever wonder why Project Mbappe fails and kids start to hate a sport?
Project Mbappe is a process to make a kid at a very young age a pro soccer player or any pro player. Some kids when going into sports have it easier than others and some kids have it harder, and what I mean by that is some parents try and train their kids at a young age to make them a D1 athlete and then often lead their kids to fall out of the sport or just quit completely.
According to The Boston Globe
“One reason is the gap between the child’s desire to have fun and the misguided notion among some adults that their kids’ games are a miniature version of grown-up competitions” This piece of evidence shows that too much parental involvement, and the idea of money too, gets in the way of a kid’s dream or goals in sports.
Another piece of evidence that proves Project Mbappe fails is “ single-sport specialization, the privatization of youth leagues, and the ranking and cutting of young children have become widespread.” This is also another reason why youth sports seem competitive because the kids get valued in ways that might make them think less of themselves or just not good enough to play in sports.
Some people may disagree with that and say maybe it is just a kid’s lack of interest in the sport itself. That might be true, because some may feel like that is not the right sport for them anymore or maybe they feel like the game is too toxic. But the majority of kids quit because of the pressure and high demands that the coaches and parents put on them.
In conclusion, parents and toxic environment makes kids quit sports, this is why Project Mbappe sometimes fails.
