I am a mountain soul by heart and love them in every season. The crisp air fills my lungs and the vibrant hues awaken my spirit.

Talking of the monsoon season, it does usher simply magic to the mountains. The monsoon magic in the mountains fills my heart with joy and my soul with tranquility.

There is a quaint picturesque hamlet in the Garhwal Himalayas, Kothali near Rishikesh in the Indian state of Uttarakhand where I would love to visit time and again.

Sharing a slice of my photo album of one of my favourite holidays:

The picture postcard-like hamlet transforms into a lush paradise as the monsoon arrives.

The clouds descend like a soft blanket in hues of white and grey, draping the mountains with nothing less than an aura of awesomeness.

Rain dances on the rooftops, streams nearby swell with life, the innocent laughter of the hilly schoolgoers mingle with the pitter patter of raindrops.

The air becomes thick with the earthy aroma of the wet soil, wildflowers bloom, dotting the landscape with colour. Every leaf, every grass shimmer with droplets.

The shared conversations of the simple villagers ring out as they gather under the umbrellas, feeling alive in this enchanting season.

Here, time dances slowly, allowing moments to stretch and breathe, encouraging us to follow suit.

The mist rolls in, and it feels like stepping into a dream, where the world is hushed and the usual rush slows down to a gentle, rhythmic pace.

Nestled among towering peaks and lush valleys, this little village feels like a hidden gem, untouched by the rush of modern life.

The air here is crisp and pure, carrying the sweet scent of pine and wildflowers.

Walking through the rain-drenched trails, I find a profound sense of peace. The monsoon washes away the dust and noise of the world, leaving only the pure essence of the mountains.

As the sun sets behind the mountains, the sky transforms into a canvas of vibrant hues. The air cools, and a peaceful stillness settles over the village.

I feel a deep connection to this vibrant display of nature’s strength and renewal.

The greenery is more intense, the colors richer, and every leaf and blade of grass glistens with life.

I would love to go back to the place where the beauty of the mountains and the simplicity of life come together in perfect harmony.

This is a humble response to the Our Photo Stories’ July prompt, ‘Favourite Holiday Snap’. Hearty thanks Susie Kearley for this vibrant place to hang out.
