“It’s about time that Thai food is fully recognised for the talent that Thai cooks exhibit. They’re damn fine cooks, they’re instinctive cooks and they are splendid cooks,” says David Thompson, one of the finest cooks in the world of Thai cuisine, per Tatler Asia

Last winter, my family and I visited Bangkok and Nichida in Thailand, and were blown away by the local cuisine. The flavors of the food were incredible, but what stood out was the beautiful presentation of each dish.

Thai cuisine is known for its vibrant mix of spicy, sour, sweet, and salty flavors. However, the presentation truly sets it apart. In Thailand, how food looks is as important as how it tastes. The attention to detail is remarkable.

The food always looks stunning whether you’re eating from a street vendor or a fancy restaurant. Fruits and vegetables are often carved into intricate shapes like flowers. Thai chefs are trained in this art, and the food presentation in this country is truly a form of art.
