I can still smell it
the burning smell of the fire you lit my heart with
I watch as the ashes of it blow away
with it all of me is carried afar
where there was once hope there is now nothing
seeing you once as my redemption now I cannot see you
because the opposite of love is not heartbreak
it is a numbing like no other
it is a place where emotion doesn’t stir
It is a blankness within a darkness
