Ginggaew Lorsoongnern was a domestic cleaner and nanny to the 6-year-old son of Vichai Srijareonsukying and his wife Jitra, owners of the popular Somboonpochana Restaurant.

Despite Ginggaew not getting on with the couple, she was aggrieved when they told her in October 1978, she was fired.
She had minded their son, and after forming a close attachment, was now being separated from him. To add injury to insult, there was a discrepancy over her wages.

She was understandably very upset over how she had been treated.

Unfortunately, Ginggaew poured out all her anger to the wrong person.
Pin, who was her boyfriend, was also married to Thongsuk and the 28-year-old ex-convict, came up with an idea for revenge on the couple, which unbeknownst to Ginggaew, would lead to the deaths of four people.

Pin persuaded Ginggaew to turn up at the school of Vichai and Jitra’s son, which had been one of her former duties, and take the child. The 6-year-old was delighted to see his nanny again and willingly went with her…
