Paul was an early beta-tester for OurStreets (way back in January 2019), and has combined his passion for safer streets with his professional experience to become our Head of Operations, Paul will use his wide-ranging experience to scale the business in product, operations, and people functions. From day-one, Paul will be laser-focused on engaging with and expanding the OurStreets community and leverage the power of connection to make streets safe for everybody.

Paul brings a decade of experience in managing high-performing teams to OurStreets. His previous successes include UrbanStems, where he expanded same-day bike-delivery markets and helped scale the organization from a few dozen DC-based team members to 100+ employees nationwide. Paul empowers teams to work better together by focusing on both people and process.

We’re excited to welcome Paul to OurStreets and asked him to share more about his journey from beta-tester and safe-streets advocate to his new role helping grow the OurStreets community.

OurStreets is a tool for everyone.

I was initially drawn to OurStreets as a tool for pedestrians and cyclists to report dangerous driving behavior. After spending time beta-testing the app and speaking with the OurStreets team, I realized the true magic is in the way OurStreets brings together disparate communities of advocates and organizers with shared mobility operators and municipal stakeholders. By organizing real-world data in real-time, OurStreets empowers users to improve our cities and our institutions, ultimately making our physical environments safer for everyone.

Changing minds and saving lives.

As traffic violence disrupts lives across our communities, and as the stakes related to climate change rise with every passing day, it is critical that we use accurate and up-to-date information to inform both local policy and individual decision making. For transportation departments, OurStreets provides clear and accurate crowdsourced data that can create positive changes in Vision Zero and local transit policies. For citizen-users, OurStreets provides a powerful way to illustrate to friends and family the complex relationship between private property, public space, and welcoming environments for all neighbors.

Amplifying People Power.

I believe the key to building a successful company is organization and community building. Cultivating strong relationships based on mutual understanding builds consensus, and encourages differing interests to move forward together. I am excited to join OurStreets in our mission to amplify the power of citizens to create safer streets for all road users, and I look forward to bringing this same people-first sensibility to work every day.

OurStreets provides a dynamic framework for citizens, advocacy organizations, municipal stakeholders and transportation departments, and shared mobility operators to amplify people power for safer streets. Join Paul and the OurStreets community by downloading the OurStreets app today.
