We all know her, we’ve all seen her, we may even sometimes BE her. She stalks the aisles of grocery stores waiting to ruin some poor minimum wage worker’s day. Blending in with nature, she dials 911 while accosting strangers out in public parks. Those perfectly manicured fingers always up to no good.
Sometimes she’s called a Karen, sometimes it’s Permit Patty or BBQ Becky or Target Jennifer.
Regardless of the name, these women do their best to center themselves and their feelings no matter the context. The chaos they create comes from the same place, even if their actions don’t always look the same at first glance.
Karen: A Brief History
An offshoot of the Homo Genus, I have determined that for the sake of the discussion we must be more specific with our language. Therefore, I have created a new classification for this group of privileged and well-trained actors: Homo Karenus.
