Harnessing Friction To Get Your A*s In Shape In Your 40s
How to make the right things easy and the wrong things hard
Let’s talk friction, and not the kind that needs my trusty can of WD-40 to fix.
Because aged 48, with three teenagers running circles around me, I’m still far from being as productive and in-shape as I’d like to be… but I’m getting there!
And I’ve done so by learning how to use Friction to make Useful Sh*t happen, and stop Counter-Productive Sh*t from happening (that often!).
I always enjoy seeing that lightbulb moment with my coaching clients when they realize how they can make all this health, fitness, fat loss and productivity stuff DOABLE by creating or removing Friction.
I’m sure when you think about your health, fitness and all-round productivity, there are:
- things you want to do more of that will help you thrive; and
- things you know you should do less of, to stop shooting yourself in the foot.
Trying to manage all this is what we call ‘Self Improvement’ these days I guess — what did we call it in the 80s?!
