As much as couples should be having deep and meaningful chats, playing board games, doing charity work or something equally virtuous in the evenings, let’s face it…

you’re probably going to watch TV together.

And yet, this area can be a minefield of scrolling and disagreeing until it’s too late to watch anything anyway.

Fortunately I am somewhat of an afficionado (admittedly self-appointed) in this vitally important field.

During 23 years of marriage I have successfully navigated the journey from having only 5 channels of terrestrial TV to watch when we started in 2001, all the way up to now having multiple shows across multiple platforms that we can’t really keep track of, and STILL, through good shows and bad shows, we are still married.

So I’ve a few tips to share (though please add your own in the Comments!)

1. Avoid ‘Tragic’ & ‘Harrowing’ at Weekends.

I can’t tell you the last time I had sex on a weekday.
