Not specific workouts, superfoods, supplements or ‘hacks’
You hit 40, look in the mirror, and think, “Sh*t, where did my athletic body shape go? And what’s with this extra padding around the middle?”.
Trust me, I know this struggle all too well. When I hit my late 30s, despite being a personal trainer, I found myself losing muscle, gaining fat around my belly and chest, and dealing with low mood, low libido, and energy levels that made keeping up with my three kids feel like too much effort.
So what do we often do in these situations?
We go HARDCORE. We dive headfirst into a new workout and diet plan we find online that promises fast results. We’re convinced that if we can just stick to this rigid routine, we’ll be back in fighting shape in no time.
Spoiler alert: It doesn’t work.
Why? Because we’re human, not robots. And humans get bored. Fast. Boredom leads to a lack of consistency. No consistency means half-assing the whole thing.
And we repeat this same scenario over and over again, each time losing a little more belief that it will ‘work’ this time.
