App Update

We got mostly positive feedback on the app from testers and classmates. Monsurat updated the app on December 6 to address a couple of things they did comment on:

• Added distance in miles from your current location for each site

• Fixed a typo in the onboarding tutorial

This was a major pain point because the blue lines that showed the route from your current location to a specific site doesn’t really tell you much about the journey there. So we were really excited to be able to add more information about the journey, specifically how many miles you would need to travel to reach the site.

Some suggestions for a version 2.0 of the app are the following:

• When a site is selected on the map, pull that card up at the bottom
• Check the back button functionality, especially if the route directions are interrupted prematurely
• Options for a pre-set tour route
• Options to select the entire tour beforehand instead of one site at a time
• Have the app keep track of sites you’ve already visited

The class has come to an end, thank you for following our development from Rebecca’s idea to a published app on the Google Play Store. We are currently talking to a teacher at a Medford high school about their students taking over the app, as well as some Tufts students and clubs. Stay tuned!
