Today, Overclock Labs is pleased to announce we’ve secured our first round of financing from a fantastic set of investors for $1.3M.

Overclock Labs started two years ago with the mission of simplifying how companies set up and manage cloud infrastructure across the globe and we’re excited to announce our first Product, DISCODistributed Infrastructure for Serverless Computing Operations.

Using Disco, a company can integrate multiple cloud service providers together to reduce costs and increase performance. Disco allows customers to seamlessly deploy applications between various Cloud providers such as Amazon Web Services, Google Compute Platform, IBM SoftLayer, or private clouds at any time, to enjoy the best offerings from all providers.

Companies can use Disco to create a hybrid cloud and deploy globally in minutes, a process that used to take months for experienced developers to set-up and continuously manage. Disco also utilizes a unique High-Density Packaging algorithm which can reduce the number of servers needed by 15% as well.

Companies that would benefit the most from using Disco are companies running latency-critical and bandwidth-sensitive jobs, such as:

  • MarTech, Media, and Gaming companies.
  • Machine Learning Companies, running big data jobs.
  • Any company who wants to simplify and automate their Cloud Infrastructure.

We’ve used this technology to reduce AWS costs by more than 50% for beta testers and believes it can cut costs even more if integrated with the right Cloud Service Providers.

We plan on open-sourcing Disco in 2018. You can see a working demo at ovrclk.com.

To accomplish this, we wanted to team up with the most helpful investors. We picked

(my mentor and advisor) to be our champion. Auren has proven to be incredibly helpful to Overclock Labs with introductions to Investors and Customers.

Our other amazing partner is Patrick Gallagher from CrunchFund. CrunchFund has perhaps the most comprehensive seed program, and that’s invaluable for an early-stage company. From crafting our PR strategy to providing high-end photography services, they’ve been forthcoming and instrumental every step of the way.

Our incredible set of investors include: Steven Fan (Head of Investments, Tencent), Charles Songhurst (Frm. Head of Strategy, Microsoft), Christopher Michel (Founder, Military.com), Tom Cole and Veronica Wu (Hone Capital), Jeremy Lizt (CTO, LiveRamp), Ethan Beard (Frm. Dir of Platform, Facebook), Itamar Novick (CBO, Life360), Mark Jacobstein (Chief User Engagement Officer, Guardant Health), Jeff Grimes (Scout, Sequoia Capital), Jose Vargas (CRO, AutoWeb), Matias de Tezanos (Frm. CEO, AutoWeb), Ashley Beitel, Scott Faber (Founder, Ingenio), and Dan Lynch (Founder, Brandcast).
