John Day — Clarno to Cottonwood

The John Day river is magestic. It winds down a huge canyon for 70 miles from Claron to Cottonwood. In early April I set out with 9 friends in 4 rafts and an IK to spend 5 days floating down this amazing stretch of peaceful solitude. Big thanks to Deschutes River Adventures for supplying amazing food meal after meal as well as a fairly luxiourous bit of “infrastructure”.
