Scorcher of a campout in Plain, WA

One of several nice off-road trailers.

NW Overland Rally is an awesome event out in Plain, WA. We went this year with some friends and endured 102+ temperatures for days and still had fun. Think of Overlanding as a Venn diagram between Trucks, Camping and Travel.

Windmills on the drive from Oregon to Plain, WA. Took 84 to 97.
2WD VW van
Fuso FG. Only truck this size with 4WD sold in the States.
Dick’s Fuso camper. He did a great job putting this one together. Tool boxes provide plenty clean/dirty outside accessible secure storage options.
Side view.
Nice pull out kitchen setup on a homemade camper?
Classy and rugged. Dishwashing station on side.
Really nice trailer setup.
Another company making trailers.
These fiberglass pop-up campers were top-notch. It really felt good inside of them. More of a high end boat than cheap camper.
Defender 110 double cab with pop-tent on back.
Well traveled and rugged Defender 110 double cab.
Nice awning setup on this Jeep.
Porsche Cayenne evidently kickass off-road.
A nice 70's era Doka Unimog.
Umbrellas helped tremendously keeping the intense sun off.
Taking down. We parked at a 90 angle then hung a large slice of shade cloth between the trucks. This was much appreciated considering the 100+ temps!
