Over the last decade, we have deepened our roots in the gaming ecosystem. What started as a swiss-army knife type software, with all the features we were missing while playing games, has evolved into a platform that serves over 30,000 creators and 20 million gamers every month.

Over the last few years, our community of creators have fulfilled their visions, made games even better, and ultimately created a brand new career path along the way: the in-game creator.

However, as we’ve evolved and sharpened our purpose, we realized that the current Overwolf brand doesn’t capture the essence of who we are today or connect with our community of creators in a meaningful way.

It was time to refine and update our identity and purpose to match where we are — and where we are headed — as we lay the groundwork for a new era of participating in AAA game creation.

The Change

We began this rebranding journey wanting to recognize and acknowledge the rise of a new generation of gaming creators. What was once a scattered group of indie enthusiasts have evolved into a nation of professional creators who make League of Legends more legendary, Heroes of the Storm more heroic, and Minecraft more mind-blowing.

The Overwolf of 2011 is Not the Same Overwolf of Today

Over the last few years, we’ve refined the values that guide us at Overwolf and honed in on four main values:

  • Be Legendary
  • Support Main
  • On The Hunt
  • Level Up Together

We take these values to heart and use them as a guide when making business decisions. Every aspect of the new design was created to reinforce these ideals. When we sat down with the design team, we were adamant that we should work toward an updated brand that strongly communicated our attitude and our commitment to in-game creators. There was a huge disconnect between the work the company does, how it felt online, and how it’s being communicated to the world. We worked hand-in-hand with the design team on bringing options to the table that would bring more alignment in those three areas.

The new Overwolf brand reflects our mission to unite the in-game creator community by establishing a guild for in-game creators. At Overwolf, you can activate the natural-born creator inside of you, make game-changing (literally) experiences possible, and ultimately redefine what it means to be an in-game creator. Overwolf is the home for making amazing new experiences possible — experiences that make the games we love so much more awesome. And ultimately, it is the place creators have the opportunity to share their passion with the world.

A New Look

We ended up shedding our old logo, colors, typeface, and design and embraced a refreshed brand that more accurately reflects the talented creators we work alongside every single day. When reviewing a new design concept we would ask ourselves, “Is this legendary enough?”

At the forefront of our new identity is the redesigned logo, which has transitioned from a gamer-specific look-and-feel to a regal, clean, and sophisticated design that conveys our dedication to all players in the ecosystem including in-game creators, gamers, game developers and influencers.

The dark matter represents the world of games where anything can be built upon it. It’s moddable material to construct virtual kingdoms.

The runes-code language represents the actual creations being created. Every design is carefully crafted to communicate our ambition to all level up together.

Let’s Build the Future of Games, Together

Our industry is at an inflection point, and UGC is on its way to becoming a standard in every game. When it comes to UGC, everyone levels up; gamers get more content, creators of apps and mods can finally earn a sustainable income, and game developers are able to extend the shelf life of their titles. We are dedicated to empowering creators and accelerating the community-created content movement. We hope this rebrand reflects our respect and commitment to creators as we work together to build the guild for in-game creators.
