Wargraphs sold for $54M, what this could mean for in-game creators and UGC

We have major news to share about one of our very own devs! Porofessor, the popular in-game app for League of Legends players, has been acquired by M.O.B.A. Network for €50 million (see coverage in VentureBeat & TechCrunch).

The story of Porofessor began in 2013 when Trebonius built League of Graphs, a website that provided high-quality statistics for League of Legends players. As other League helpers began to emerge, Trebonius was inspired to create a way for players to understand their match statistics, champion performance, and other key aspects of gameplay. In 2017, Porofessor was born, initially as a part of League of Graphs and then as its own domain and website.

However, Trebonius soon realized that the user experience he wanted to create was not technically possible from a website. He came across Overwolf and saw the value he could create by building an in-game app that players could use in real-time. Thus, Porofessor became an in-game app that quickly became a favorite of top esports teams worldwide, amassing over 10 million downloads on the platform.

Over the years, we’ve been inspired by Trebonius’s work ethic and his community-first approach and Porofessor’s acquisition is a testament to his hard work and dedication.
