Getting Your First OVR Tokens
Collecting Tokens on OVR is easy… read on to see just how easy!
Wow, cool, I’m using AR! But where are those free tokens everyone’s talking about?
First of all, let’s get this out of the way. We totally agree with you: simply getting in on the app and exploring the world around you via OVR is very cool.
And seeing all your friends and other users post pictures of all those OVRLands discovered and all those treasure boxes with the bonus OVR Tokens inside? Also very cool!
But okay, we understand. Seeing everyone else find OVR Tokens while you’re unsure of even where to start? That’s probably not so cool. But don’t worry, that’s why we’ve made this very brief guide to help you get started.
Before using the app…
We take it you’ve already registered for the OVR Rewards Campaign right?
Because just getting registered gets you 150 OVR Tokens before even doing anything… plus you get a referral link to share. You get 15 OVR Tokens from each friend who joins under you too, so you should really check out our Medium Blog Post on the OVR Rewards Campaign if you haven’t already.
Hunting on the OVR App: step by step
OK, now let’s get to it! Finding your very first OVR Tokens via our App is really easy.
Step 1: Launch the App from your smartphone. You will now see a Welcome Screen with instructions on calibrating your App for use. When you understand, Touch OK to proceed.
Step 2: If you calibrated your phone correctly, the OVR Assistant — yes, that lady on your screen now;) — will show up. Touch the “Bounty Program” option.
Step 3: The next screen welcomes you to the OVR Rewards Campaign. After reading and understanding the information, swipe left on your screen.
Step 4: This screen gives you information about OVR Genesis Tokens. As the name suggests, these are the very first tokens OVR is giving away and you’re very lucky to have the opportunity to earn them! When done reading, swipe left on your screen.
Step 5: This screen tells you how much OVR Tokens you can find when opening a Treasure Chest if you’re lucky enough to find one. They are hiding so you have to walk around to find them! Swipe left on your screen when finished.
Step 6: This screen tells you that when you launched the app, a Plasma Chain account was created for you to store all the OVR Tokens you’ll ever earn on the App. How cool is that? When you’ve recovered from the amazement, swipe left on your screen.
Step 7: It’s a huge world out there but this screen tells you that you can only explore 10 Lands every day. And that’s the end of the welcome screen. You can check the box on this screen if you never want to see these series of helpful tips again. When you’re ready, Touch “OK, got it!”
Step 8 and Step 9: Finally! You’re looking at the OVR world. Seeing your world through the AR layer of OVR may need some getting used to, so take your time. Move your phone’s camera around and watch your screen. If there are any AR objects in that particular OVR Land you are in, it will show up on your screen.
Step 10: Selecting the ICON on the bottom of your screen while viewing the world in AR mode will show you this Map mode, and the direction you are facing. Here, you can see that the world is divided up into Hexagons called OVRLands. You can see the name of your OVRLand here. See that cube in the OVRLand ahead of you? Let’s head towards it?
Step 11: Return to AR mode and what’s this you see in front of you but a Treasure Chest! Select the chest on your screen!
Step 12: Oh but wait, you need to login to the App first. Touch OK.
Step 13: You now need to sign in with your Facebook account. Touch the FB logo.
Step 14: Select “Continue” to give the App permissions to access your Facebook details.
Step 15: Facebook is now asking for permissions. Select Continue.
Step 16: Now, all your Facebook details such as your Name and Email are registered on the OVR app. Is your email different from the one you used to register for the OVR Rewards Campaign? Then get in touch with us for manual verification. Otherwise, return to AR mode.
Step 17: You have opened the Treasure Chest and earned OVR Tokens!
Step 18: Check your profile and you can see your tokens collected in real time!

So many rewards and treasure boxes are lying around the OVR layer on your world, but first, you have to go and find them! Don’t forget, the OVR app is now available for download and participation in the OVR Rewards Campaign, with special incentives awaiting early adopters!
