My Love for music started at a young age. Almost as soon as I was out of the womb I was listening to music or playing with my siblings and parents. When I was 6 I really started to get involved with music, I would sit in front of a drum set for about an hour every day and had to learn how to play different songs by ear. Some of my proudest moments were figuring out how to play Ocean Avenue by Yellowcard and Welcome to the Black Parade by My Chemical Romance. After a couple of years playing the drums I transitioned into playing the Electric Bass with my family at church, I didn’t get into it as much as I did the drums, however, I did learn to play it decently. What I consider to be my main instrument is the cello. I have been playing the cello for a little over 5 years, I am in the chamber orchestra at my school. I tell you this to illustrate the fact that I have been around music my whole life. Now I feel that I listen to a lot of music, in fact according to Spotify I listened to music for a total of 24,934 minutes or 415.5 hours. This means that I spent 1/21st of my year listening to music. So I feel it is pretty safe to say that I listen to a lot of music.

Apart from music always being in my life I also believe in the power music has in humans on an emotional level and that it can help people get through hard times and also some of the other effects it has on your psyche and physical ability.
