Why Kendrick Lamar is My favorite Artist.

I whole heartedly believe that Kendrick Lamar is easily the best rapper in the game right now. Kendrick Lamar manages to meld his lyrics and his beats to form some of the best song of all time and should eventually go down in history as one of the best rappers of all time. Firstly I would like to speak on the way his albums are made. Starting after To Pimp A Butterfly (explicit) all of his albums form complete stories with each song being a part of the collective story while each song is also important in its own ways. These songs also always have a bigger meaning than they can convey at first, for example the song These Walls is a song about sex on the surface, however, when you start looking deeper into the song it actually paints a much more meaningful song about the views some people in the hoods have on women and how they should be treated, in fact this is the overall meaning of the whole album, the perpetuating cycle of aggressions and problems in minority communities. His newest album Damn. was critically acclaimed and should have won the album of the year award, but it didn’t, either way in this song Kendrick goes even deeper than in some of his other albums and shows us that rap can be meaningful and also sound cool and get you hyped up. His song DNA is one of those songs, on the surface it just sounds like a song to get you hyped up and ready to go, however, when you read the lyrics and think about what they could possibly mean, it is amazing.
