The Game of Owlies
Greetings prospective Parliament, we extend an enthusiastic and welcoming “Ohhoot!” from our team to you. The team has been hard at work building, and wanted to share some of what we have in store with you.
So, what is Owlies?
Owlies Ecosystem is the home for our exciting new hyper deflationary NFT based Owlies Trading Card Game, running natively on the Juno Network.

Let’s break each of these categories down, their functions and mechanisms within the game, and what we have planned so far.
THREE MAGIC TOKENS
- $OWLIES, Owlies is the base layer token that powers the ecosystem. Owlies token will be airdropped largely to Genesis First Press (GFP) and our Owlies Hoothouse Club (Ohhoot) NFT holders, as well as to Strange Clan holders (YAWP!) and other major communities within the Cosmos ecosystem. Users will be able to earn Owlies tokens from staking and possible LPs in the future. Staking $OWLIES provides users with dual token rewards in the form of $OWLIES and $BRNCH, making it the only way to earn Branch tokens.
Branches are important in the world of Owlies 🦉🦉🦉 - $BRNCH, Branch token is a deflationary asset which users will be able to earn from staking $OWLIES. $BRNCH tokens are earned at the rate of 10% of your staked $OWLIES / year. Players require Branch tokens in order to craft Walking Sticks, which are the first level Branch NFT, elaborated upon further in the “BRANCH NFTs” section below. Branch tokens and Branch NFTs are burned in the process of crafting and leveling up.
- $STRDST, Stardust token is a deflationary asset which users will be able to earn from staking Owlies NFTs. GFP and Hoothouse Club Owlies NFTs will provide staking multipliers for $STRDST, that adjust based on rarity (Rarer NFTs will net users higher staking rewards). Players can use $STRDST to craft and upgrade Stardust NFTs called Qualities. Qualities can be combined with Owlies NFTs, elaborated upon further in the “QUALITIES” section below. Stardust tokens and Stardust NFTs are burned in the process of crafting and upgrading.
MONSTER BOXES
Monster Boxes are where every player’s journey begins. Monster Boxes will be available to mint in packs of x10 or x25 Owlies NFT eggs with randomized tiers, as well as the occasional special surprise ;) From here, players can hatch their eggs into babies, transform babies to teens, then teens to adults, and adults to wizards. We will continue to explain the mechanisms for doing so below.
OWLIES NFTs, TIERS, and LEVELS
Owlies NFTs are available to adopt as 12 different characters, featuring five tiers, and five levels. Users will be able to stake Owlies NFTs to earn $STRDST tokens, and even get staking multipliers with higher tiered / higher level Owlies.
- Five Tiers: Upon the minting of your Owlies NFT monster boxes, your newly minted NFT will be randomly pegged with a tier. Tiers are immutable, and even as players transform Owlies NFTs through their levels (Egg to Baby to Teen to Adult to Wizard), the tier for each respective Owlies NFT will always stay the same. (i.e. copper is always copper, silver is always silver, etc…)
- Five Levels: Owlies NFTs have five levels players can discover. All Owlies will mint at the Egg level, hatch at the Baby level, and can be transformed into even more powerful levels as you progress through the game. To level up Owlies, players need to burn Branch NFTs and multiple Owlies NFTs of the same tier together in order to transform their Owlies NFT to the next level up, discussed further in the section below.
- Staking Multipliers: Baby level Owlies NFTs and up can be staked in order to earn $STRDST. Every level above Baby will double the staking rewards from the previous level, meaning Teen Owlies earn 2x rewards, Adult earns 4x, and Wizard earns 8x. Each tier above common will provide a staking multiplier of .25x for whatever level Owlies the player is staking, increasing an additional .25x for each consecutive tier. This means uncommon receives a 1.25x multiplier, rare receives 1.5x, epic receives 1.75x, and legendary Owlies receive a 2x multiplier on their $STRDST rewards, thereby bringing the potential reward multiplier with a legendary Wizard Owlies NFT to a whopping 16x !!!
BRANCH NFTs
As mentioned in the “THREE MAGIC TOKENS” section, players will be able to mint Branch NFTs with $BRNCH. You will need both Owlies NFTs and Branch NFTs together in order to transform your Owlies NFT to the next level up. There are four levels of Branch NFTs, each of them more difficult to craft than the previous.
Each consecutive level of a Branch NFT requires two Branch NFTs from the previous level in order to craft, except for the first level Walking Stick which only requires $BRNCH. So Lightning Staffs (Lvl 2) require two Walking Sticks (Lvl 1) to craft, and Warrior Staffs (Lvl 3) require two Lightning Staffs (Lvl 2) to craft, and Wizard Staffs (Lvl 4) require two Warrior Staffs (Lvl 3) to craft. $BRNCH, Branch NFTs, and Owlies NFTs are burned in the process of crafting or leveling up.
Four Branch NFTs: Walking Stick > Lightning Staff > Warrior Staff > Wizard Staff
- Walking Stick: This is the first and lowest level Branch NFT. Players will be able to craft Walking Sticks with the use of $BRNCH tokens. Walking Sticks will be used to hatch an Owlies NFT from the Egg level into a Baby. The number of Walking Sticks required to hatch Egg Owlies into the Baby level will always be two. The number of Eggs will vary depending on the tier of the Egg itself, so players may require five common Eggs to hatch a common Baby, but only two epic Eggs to hatch an epic Baby.
- Lightning Staff: This is the second level Branch NFT. Players will be able to transform Baby Owlies into Teen Owlies through burning two Lightning Staffs and two Baby Owlies from the same respective tier. You cannot combine a common and an epic Baby, they both need to be the same tier.
- Warrior Staff: This is the third level Branch NFT. Players will be able to transform Teen Owlies into Adult Owlies through burning two Warrior Staffs and two Teen Owlies from the same respective tier.
- Wizard Staff: This is the final level Branch NFT. Players will be able to transform their Adult Owlies into the top level Wizard Owlies through burning two Wizard Staffs and two Adult Owlies from the same respective tier.
QUALITIES
Owlies NFTs will be able to equip six different types of Stardust NFTs. These are essentially gear slots, which we call Qualities. Each Quality will have a five point rarity scale, increasing in power as you level them up. Quality types will always be the same (i.e. footgear is always footgear, weapons are always weapons), however players will be able use $STRDST to enchant and power up their Qualities to improve their rarity.
The six Qualities are headgear, armor, footgear, jewelry, weapons, and pants. Between all six, there are countless different items to craft and upgrade. Quality types are randomized upon newly crafting them, and will generally start at the baseline common level of rarity. However, there are joyfully unexpected occurrences that may leave Owlies pleasantly surprised…
Rarity Scale: Common > Uncommon > Rare > Epic > Legendary
Where does this all lead to?
The final evolution of an Owlies NFT trading card comes once you combine your transformed Owlies NFT with some or all of your crafted Qualities, and burn them into a new customized Owlies NFT. i.e. An uncommon Wizard equipped with rocket shoes (footgear), storm trousers (pants), wand of excellence (weapon), and a pointy hat (headgear). Or maybe, a legendary Baby equipped with laser goggles (headgear), camo armor (clothes), amulet of haste (jewelry), and excalibur claws (weapon). This combined Owlies NFT is the final phase of its transformation cycle, so choose wisely. With thousands of potential combinations, Owlies offers each player the ability to customize and form an incredibly varied deck that is truly and uniquely their own.
So to conclude,
Owlies the Trading Card Game provides players with expansive Owlies NFT characters, an array of tokens and mechanisms for interfacing with the ecosystem, and creates a strong foundation for everything to come. We intend to have the burn, craft, hatch, and transform game available in the next few months, with announcements for our rich 3D PvP card game experience in the months to follow. Once we establish character and item stats, we will begin facilitating tournaments throughout the year, pitting the strongest and the cleverest Owlies against one another for epic prizes along with the esteem of their Parliament. We are working to create a powerful and exciting playground for individuals to challenge, compete, share, and explore with other members of the Owlies community. Owlies will not just be fun and cool, but an opportunity to play, grow, and invest with a budding ecosystem in what is still an almost entirely untapped market that is the NFT gaming space. We are so excited to show you everything we have in store, and to share this journey with you.
