Let’s make a “to-don’t” list

Of all the shit we don’t want to do in a life choking on obligations and decisions held at gunpoint by expectations and external validation.

Of all the relationships that don’t serve us or haven’t served us for some time with the love and understanding we deserve.

Of all the habits that we’ve fed on autopilot with energy needed for the habits that move us in a universally positive direction.

Of all the expectations that pull us out of the present moment.

Of all expectations (replace with desires + goals + singular focus = you win).

Of the pressure we place on ourselves out of a shitty relationship with achievement.

Of all the systems and hacks and processes we give energy and love at the behest of putting heads down and hustling in the moment.

Of all the focus on being productive instead of being prolific.

Of all the pull we feel to do more when “hell less” is all we need to move toward our dreams and goals.

Of all the bullshit we’ve given money and time and attention to instead of honoring what matters most to us right now.

Of all the experts we married our footsteps to instead of taking their advice as renewable fuel and listening to our own intuition for directions.

Of all the space given when we could have created more for ourselves.

This — today, right now — could be a first step out of the page lines and scribbles of the “should-do,” “need-do” and “to-do” lists we’ve lived in for far too long.

For me, it’s all about the “am doing” that only comes with more love, trust and compassion for self.
