Ownly Updates #13: May 2022 Accomplishments
The month of May passed by with the Ownly team accomplishing several feats in the NFT space. From IRL events, an art exhibit, and some dev updates, here is everything the Ownly team worked on in the past month:
1. Ownly CEO, Ismael Jerusalem, attended the IRL Panel Talk at the First-Ever Largest Metaverse Event in Southeast Asia — NFT, Metaverse, GameFi Conference 2022 at Cove Manila as a Panel Speaker
Ismael who is one of the pioneer creators and builders in the NFT space in the country shared his knowledge and experience about NFTs, Metaverse, and GameFi during the IRL Panel Talk at Cove Manila. Together with other panelists, he discussed NFTs and its overall impacts on our present lives and the future.
2. Released our Mustachio Quest Closed Beta Testing Updates and tested it live via The Mint Ep 14
Our dev team headed by our CTO Bernard Historillo and lead game developer Kristoffer Jay Corral finished the Mustachio Quest Closed Beta Testing Updates. Together with our Marketing Specialist Kyle Jay Naron, they tested it live and showed us what the dev team has accomplished as we draw near to the release of our open-world play-to-earn NFT game.

3. Speaker at Cebu Guild Meetup with Blockchain Space, YGG Alerts, and lots of Guild Managers & Leaders from Cebu
Last May 15, Ismael was one of the guest speakers during one of the biggest blockchain-focused gatherings in the country on May.
4. Attended Cebu City Axie Infinity PH Meetup
Together with other Axie Infinity players and the Philippines Lead for Axie Infinity - Nix Eniego, Ismael took the time to get to know other blockchain game enthusiasts on May 16. The meetup proved that there is a huge portion of the country who are truly invested in playing games based on Web3.
5. Hosted the Ownly Blockchain Meetup Ox3 IRL on May 20 at SILI DELI.
From URL to IRL, Bicol’s Blockchain MeetUp is back! Ownly hosted the event with the intent of connecting everyone passionate and interested in blockchain tech. Participants learned so much and received bulks of info about the topic and some pizza!

6. GM Frens Accelerator Demo Day
Ismael joined the GM Frens Demo Day and highlighted the interoperability of avatars on May 26. He used our upcoming Mustachio Quest game as an example where you can play as one of the Mustachios in its 3D playable version inside the world of MustachioVerse. Among the audience of the event were Protocol Labs, Near Protocol, Filecoin, YGG, and OP Games.
The GM Frens is an accelerator program in partnership with OP Games and YGG. It is a 3-month program that provides aspiring developers with the building blocks to create fun, profitable Web3 games in partnership with OP Games and Yield Guild Games.
7. Ownly House of Art Exhibit at Kafe Kronan
Our tokenized physical art collection gained more attention when a local cafe put the artworks on its walls for an exhibit. This is only the start as we believe there’d be more businesses that would adapt NFTs soon.
8. Released our first-ever Ownly Market Artist Spotlight teaser
We’ll be launching our Ownly Market Artist Launchpad soon and last month, the Ownly community gets to see a glimpse of what it’s all about through a teaser featuring Dreaded Shrooms by Panda Noypi.

9. Quest Gamer Alliance AMA
Our CEO also joined the Quest Gamer Alliance AMA on May 27th and answered several questions about blockchain and gaming and the future of the two combined. We also gave away some mintlist spots for our Mustachio Marauders NFT during the AMA session.
10. Kina and KJ taught NFT and Cryptocurrency: The Modern Form of Money at the University of Nueva Caceres last May 30
Our marketing team paved the way for more NFT and crypto discussions as they selflessly shared their knowledge at one of the universities in the region. Local institutions taking interest in holding seminars about NFTs show promise that there’d be more opportunities in the future to educate young and inquisitive minds about this ever-evolving technology and its applications.
