Our token swap and public mainnet launch is approaching — here’s what to do
Followers of Own will know that we already launched our native blockchain earlier this year. Today CHX tokens still exist on the Ethereum blockchain as ERC20 tokens. As part of our public mainnet launch, we will be swapping the CHX ERC-20 tokens for CHX mainnet tokens on our Own native blockchain.
We would like to thank you all for your continued support and participation at this exciting milestone. Since we’re looking forward to a swift transition we also want to incentivise your early participation in the swap.
Please make sure your Ethereum CHX ERC-20 tokens are in an Ethereum wallet under your control before 1st June 2019. You must withdraw ERC-20 tokens from exchanges before 1st June 2019.
Please note that the token swap will be discontinued on 30/06/2021. Please make sure you have swapped your tokens before this date.

How do I swap my CHX ERC-20 tokens for new CHX tokens?
The first thing you need to know is that we’ve deployed a new digital wallet and you are free to create your new native CHX address: wallet.weown.com. Please follow this video tutorial that takes you step-by-step through the process.
How many new CHX tokens will I receive — and when will they be allocated?
We are running a 1:1 swap, so no additional tokens will be created; you will receive the same number of new CHX tokens as you currently hold in the Ethereum CHX ERC-20 format.
All tokens swapped to our native blockchain will be allocated once a month by a member of the WeOwn team — so please allow up to thirty days for the swap to take place.
If the tokens have not appeared after this time, or you think you’ve made a mistake, email support@weown.com and we will assist.
Migration Costs
Own will charge no fee for the CHX token swap. The only fee you need to pay is the transaction fees charged by the Ethereum network for the token transfers.
If your tokens are currently stored on an exchange or a wallet which does not provide user access to addresses’ private keys/seed, users will have to move them to an Ethereum wallet before starting the swap process. We recommend MetaMask or MyEtherWallet wallets. Any transaction fee for withdrawing tokens from an exchange or a leased wallet is subject to the transaction fee policy of individual service providers and can vary.
How to swap?
To help with the swap process, we will publish a step-by step tutorial video in the last week of May. A more technical user guide can already be found here: guidelines to complete the token swap.
Token Swap Support by Exchanges
Generally, it is not recommended to keep your tokens on an exchange for any length of time.
To date, Bitmax has confirmed that they will support the swap, but we would still recommend undertaking the swap manually for complete peace of mind.
Additional exchanges may support our new native CHX token after the token swap is completed. You can join our efforts by reaching out to your preferred exchange and asking them to support the new native CHX token. We will provide all the required technical support that exchanges require.
Security Advice: we will never ask you to send or reveal your private key. We will never send you additional instructions via social media channels. We will also never ask you to send your Ethereum CHX ERC-20 balance to another ETH address.
