It hosted a conference that explored how blockchain technology can facilitate large-scale implementation of blockchain technology for the benefit of citizens, including through e-government services and financial inclusion, as the country rebuilds and re-joins the international order after years of turmoil and isolation.

In the latest high-profile use of blockchain in the healthcare industry. Bitcoin SV (BSV), a digital currency with an infinitely scalable blockchain, revealed ‘VXpass’ in one of its recent Virtual Meetups. VXpass is a digital vaccine verification application for patients, healthcare providers and manufacturers to keep track of patient vaccinations in a certain area. Aside from offering the usual blockchain capabilities like transparency, security, and big data storage, VXpass will allow individuals to own their own data. It will allow individuals to hold, control and access their medical history. They can even earn revenues whenever institutions need their data for research or reference.

Crypto start-up Dfinity set to launch blockchain rival to AWS

Dfinity’s ‘internet computer’ project launched this week, alongside trading of the digital tokens that will circulate in its internal digital economy. Dfinity is launching a group of technologies aimed at supporting decentralised applications and services. The project seeks to cut through the crowded market of ‘smart contract’ operators that have emerged in the blockchain world; it hopes to function as a faster, cheaper alternative to ethereum. The project’s founder, Dominic Williams, cast it as a single platform for ‘Web 3.0’ — a decentralised set of services that could challenge the power of tech giants like Facebook and Google.

Global blockchain firm rebuilding Pakistan’s education system

Fantom, a firm specialising in creative solutions using blockchain technology, has partnered with the Pakistan Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority to build blockchain-powered databanks with advanced processing capacities in order to meet the country’s private education needs. The system seeks to increase the efficiency of record keeping and data management for educators and students, while improving the accessibility of private education, which plays a vital role in the country’s education system.
