LETTER FROM THE EDITOR

After publishing our 50th anniversary issue last year, we wanted to do something different for this next issue. After 50 (ish) issues of Oyez Review, how could we make Issue 51 our most unique volume yet? Novellas! And long short stories that other literary magazines are often unable to publish. We wanted to offer an outlet to writers who can’t always find a home for their longer works.

Oyez Review has always been a place for writers of all different genres and styles. Variety is our thing, and this issue will be no different. We’ve got novellas, long short stories, and just about everything in between. What links these pieces together is their desire to do something different. Just as we were searching for ways to push Oyez Review to a place we’ve never taken the magazine before, these writers are doing the same within their work.

From a collaborative novella to a poem about almost getting killed by a Nissan Rogue, there is guaranteed to be something for every reader in this issue. And hopefully, you’ll even walk away with a new favorite writer or two.

Whether you want to sit down and dive into a novella or read a short story on your morning commute, Oyez’s Issue 51 has got you covered.
