The DOT project, or the Do One Thing project, is meant to help the environment by doing different things like going vegetarian. Something I’ve already noticed — and it’s just been a day — is that the taste of meat is engraved in my mind as something we crave and it is somewhat scary when you think about it.

The reason I chose to go vegetarian was for a few reasons. First, my mother is a vegetarian. Second, I found an article by Harvard Medical School on the web that basically stated the good that can come from going vegetarian, along with some bad things, but not that many in comparison to how it would benefit the environment. Third, I am against the cruel treatment of animals.

What I will be doing for a month is I will be able to control my eating of meat and hopefully I will begin to enjoy my time as a vegetarian. I hope to be able to incorporate it into my lifestyle after the project has finished, whether or not I eat meat after the project or not.

Something that I never thought about until just a while prior to the DOT project was the cruelty that is put upon animals. It’s horrible to think about, which is why I will not be writing about it here but I will point you to the National Agricultural Law Center if you would like to learn more.

I mean, who would want to harm them, they’re so cute.

Anyway, I hope you can come with me on this adventure for a month. Bye!
