In Conclusion…

This has been a long 28 days of self control and hard temptations. I have gone through many self control exercises with this project. I probably won’t be continuing with the strict constraints of my DOT project, although I will certainly edge away from animal products when there are better alternatives. Through this project I have found many alternatives to animal products such as just a regular salad. I also noticed that when I ate salads and foods like it, I felt a lot better physically throughout that day. There are also many vegan and vegetarian restaurants in the city that have great recipes that will have you satisfied without any animal products.

There were many times where I was craving meat or dairy but resisted because I knew it would make a difference. But to truly know how much of a difference I made, I recorded my consumption of animal products. My data showed that I had reduced my animal product consumption immensely. For example, my data showed that my consumption of chicken per year reduced by 33 pounds and that my consumption of dairy products had reduced by 135 pounds per year.

In conclusion, the DOT project had many ups and downs but was well worth it knowing that I made a a difference for the better.
