My first impressions on the project where “How can taking shorter showers truly make the world better?”. Well , I learned that The average American shower uses 17.2 gallons (65.1 liters) and lasts for 8.2 minutes at average flow rate of 2.1 gallons per minute (gpm) (7.9 lpm). I realized that this is a large issue that we as humans need to do.

A favorite moment during the project was when we were timing the shower. Because my DOT project was to take shorter showers, I purposefully did everything rapidly to waste less time in the shower and waste less water.

Successes and Challenges:

  • Successful timing on the showers
  • Figuring out the amount of gallons
  • bringing the buckets of water to measure them.
