Building Band Channels

OZ is for creators across the entire spectrum of genres. In music, OZ offers bands and musicians an opportunity to express themselves and connect with their fans through a curated video. An OZ channel encapsulates the band’s creativity in one place and provides fans with a chance to experience their originality in a new way. Bands can upload a catalogue of content and curate it into a schedule as they please. New videos can be added ad-hoc or in a constant rhythm. Episodes can be grouped together as part of a collection or presented as individual shows.

We already have bands working with OZ who are finding new and exciting ways to express their creativity and connect with their fans. Here’s what some of our music partners are doing on OZ:

1. Jam Sessions — Rehearsals, new song development and impromptu sessions.

2. Other Projects — Various ventures band members are working on, for example producing for other artists or writing music scores, either for films or ads. This doesn’t even always need to include the band members themselves. Often this can involve interviews with partners and collaborators, talking about the experience and gaining insights.

3. Happy Hour —Collaboration between artists of different backgrounds, for example at a bar during Happy Hour. Viewers get a glimpse of their brainstorming and can listen in on their various interesting conversations

4. Feedback —Band members answer fans’ questions in a relaxed environment, like the studio or over a cup of coffee. The band members could answer questions on or off camera, using questions offered on social media. Or the band can solicit particular questions from fans for specific episodes.

5. Backstage — Capturing the mood and atmosphere backstage at concerts or other production work.

6. Favorable Mentions — Band members give recommendations on their favorite albums, movies, books, etc.

7. Backtrack — Revisiting or reworking past content, for example a specific song or video or even a chat with a former band partner or member. This could introduce never-before-seen footage, either from the past or something new with a connection to the past

8. Band on Band —This involves reviews on other bands' gigs, remixes, tracks or albums.

9. Soundcheck — Recording preparation before live shows or production events. This can be an opportunity for band members to talk about their music instruments and gadgets.

10. Introducing —Bands introduce third party content, from music documentaries to live streaming events. Creators recommend other creators, building on the OZ creator community.

11. Tour Diary —The highs and lows of tour shared with fans across the globe.

12. Noise — Uncategorized material. Everything goes. Lot’s of opportunities for creativity.

13. Drive — An interesting route recorded on video, like driving around the highlands of Iceland. This gives fans an opportunity to take part in an adventure with the band.

The idea with these suggested categories is to foster a sense of rhythm and consistency. Navigation through the channel is simplified and makes the experience even more enjoyable for your target audience.
