Have you ever watched Star Wars and R2D2 helping whenever the Jedi was in trouble? Or you watched Mitch and Cam from Modern Family having a relationship with their fridge naming it Bridget? Maybe you just have Amazon Alexa at home switching the lights, and all of it is an example of Artificial Intelligence.

What is Artificial Intelligence?

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is an area of computer science that emphasizes the creation of intelligent machines that replicate or mimic human intelligence.

With the digital transformation in the past decade, developers and scientists have been working on how to help with time-consuming tasks, save us precious time, help us to get to our destinations faster and improve our daily lives.

These self-learning machines can analyze immense amounts of data and give us insights that make us faster and smarter.

There are some essentials you should know if you want to learn how emerging recruiting AI is working:

Big data is extremely large data sets that may be analyzed computationally to reveal patterns, trends, and associations, especially relating to human behavior and interactions, and without it, there wouldn’t be AI.

Automation is the technique, method, or system of operating or controlling a process by highly automatic means, as by electronic devices, reducing human intervention to a minimum. Automation in ATS has helped recruiters by eliminating manual effort required for time-consuming tasks.

Machine learning is a method of data analysis that automates analytical model building. It is a subsidiary of artificial intelligence based on the idea that systems can learn from data, identify patterns and make decisions with minimal human intervention.

Deep learning is a subset of machine learning in artificial intelligence (AI) that has networks capable of learning unsupervised from data that is unstructured or unlabeled.

These technologies are useful individually, but put together they become a powerful tool that will be a must in the future. Emerging recruiting tech is more and more AI-powered and the world should notice it.

As such AI in the past few years has revolutionized the recruiting and that process isn’t over. Many recruiters and hiring leaders say that finding the right candidate and screening their resumes is the hardest part of the hiring process,

Even though AI has almost replaced the consuming activities in communication such as response rate, interview confirmation e-mails, and left recruiters more time and focus on other activities developers are still working on improving the AI-powered tools.

Traditional recruiting is also transforming and nowadays, so methods such as applying with paper resume, phone calls and posts in local papers are considered archaic. With the digital transformation, we are safe to consider as traditional the job posting on sites, interview management, well managed corporate career sites and using an ATS. The emerging AI recruiting is focused on improving the hiring process and we have AI solutions in outbound recruiting, candidate management, recruitment marketing, resume screening, behavioral assessments, and job advertising.

In the digital age that we live in and all of the solutions that AI is offering, we can consider recruiting without AI as the world without electrical power.
