For those tracking the progress of OZ (oZone), you’ll notice we’ve added a lot of powerful functionality to our C++ API layer. Frankly, if you need to do high speed processing at real-time and need to maintain respectable speeds for embedded platforms, C++ is where the action is.

Well, today we are announcing that OZ has 2 new siblings that will soon hit our codebase:

  • jOZ — A NodeJS + Websocket interface that will sit on top of OZ, and expose simple to use HTTP REST APIs that allows developers to implement their NVR/DVR or other application simply by using REST APIs. As far as camera feed goes, jOZ will implement a websocket interface that will wrap around OZs’ powerful provider/consumer classes and offer a simple mechanism to stream the images to your app/browser. We are also working on an RTSP-HLS adapter that will allow easy rendering directly on browsers.
  • nOZy — A full featured, modern UI + ReactJS based DVR/NVR system that is ready to run out of the box. Point it to your cameras and get going.

We are currently under active development for jOZ and nOZy. If you like our architecture and are interested in helping us roll it out sooner, shoot us an email! or join our Slack Channel — We are excited! hope you are too!
