Chosen

Chosen, a photograph with a typical P Carver edit depicting a hidden story that is subjective to the individual observing the image. This photograph was captured in a well known cafe in London ‘Garfunkels’ and the lady was sitting on her own at complete solace observing through the window, she was in an almost trance like state. I wanted the image to portray an unknown spiritual entity has searched through the vast concrete jungle that is ‘London’ and found the one person out of millions for its chosen path of destiny. What do you see?

Photography Tips:

When you are in a location such as London, take your camera everywhere you go, you will be amazed at the local activity around you even in small locations such as cafe. Sometimes, you can look at a particular individual or location and the scene just jumps out of you begging to be captured. I often browse my photographs and see a different perspective that I did not initially see at the time of capture. So, go with it and if the image reminds you of something or inspires you to create a unique art piece, then do so have fun with the editing stage and see what you can come up with.

The image was edited in Photoshop and I have used two different black and white tones to create an image that places focus on the light and the individual. I love to play around with shadows and dark spots as I think these areas can make an image, of course light is important but so are shadows, some of my best images have been captured with little light. There is no right or wrong in photography like all art it is purely subjective, people either see your vision or they don’t and that is fine, people will buy into you or they wont and you can’t convince everyone.
