Did I Do the Right Thing?

After all, change is inevitable. We can’t go backwards.

This morning as I’m getting ready for work I notice a brown paper lunch-bag on my closet shelf. At first I don’t recall what’s in it, but after a quick look I snap the bag shut. It’s the awkward remains of Sally Bear. One arm, one ear, some loose white fiberfill flowing out of two brown legs.
